About Mr Maqungo
Abulele Maqungo is the Co-Founder and a Director of Information Systems at ShelfForce, who holds BSc Honours in Computer Science and the Software Developer behind the technology that keeps the business running — from the website you're reading now, to the infrastructure and systems that support ShelfForce's operations.
His university research applied Machine Learning to real-time sentiment analysis, automatically classifying thousands of public reactions to a major national event. The lesson that still shapes his work today: well-built systems can turn raw, messy feedback into clear signals a business can act on — the same principle behind ShelfForce's digital proof-of-execution on every store visit.
Before software, Abulele spent years at the Department of Home Affairs keeping systems live across more than 400 branches nationwide — work that instilled a simple standard: downtime is not an option. That reliability-first discipline now underpins every system ShelfForce depends on and every client-facing platform it builds.
For ShelfForce's clients and partners, this means the technology behind every campaign report, every digital proof-of-visit, and every piece of client communication is built and maintained in-house, by someone who treats system reliability as a non-negotiable — not outsourced, not an afterthought.
“I build technology that works for you — not the other way around. Because in business, reliability is not optional.” — Abulele Maqungo
